Arivat Sports Park

| Description: |
Hamlet of Arviat committed $800,000 in 2014-15 fiscal year to begin the construction of the Park. The park itself is located in the town centre. Summer of 2015 Hamlet developed the land assembly big enough to hold all the different venues. Hamlet also installed artificial turf on the existing softball field, constructed a soccer pitch with artificial turf. Summer of 2016 the Park will see the addition of a ball hockey rink, basketball court, playground systems, portable trailer (office space), Solar powered lighting, parking area, family picnic areas. By the end of this fiscal year Hamlet will have spent over 1 million dollars with additional funding coming from the Canada 150 fund and Sports Nunavut. |

Pending funding the Park is scheduled to begin development in the summer of 2017. |
