Power

Asset Action Required Problem Summary
Alternative Sources New Wind Generator / Solar Panels
Equipment - Power New The Gymnasium/Hamlet building does not have a generator for back up in an emergency. The school is not large enough to house the community should an emergency occur.
Alternative Sources New Resolute Bay NU 200 kW CIPP solar System The proposed CIPP solar system will reduce the amount of Diesel fuel required in Resolute Bay, and will provide a step toward autonomy from Diesel and its associated costs and hazards in the north.
Alternative Sources New Develop and implement a new 15kW AC solar PV system for the Hamlet office building, under the updated QEC net-metering program. The new solar system will reduce Diesel consumption in the community and avoid electricity costs for the community, by avoiding Diesel using solar energy when available. Design, permitting including stamped drawings and reviews, materials, shipment and installation and inspection and commissioning are included. Internet-based solar system monitoring is included. This is a turn-key project.

Fence - Landfill New Double fencing is required for the Landfill site.
Hazardous Waste Remediate Hazardous waste containment berm is at maximum capacity. Drums need to be identified, tagged and shipped out for proper disposal.

Incineration New Incinerator - Proper waste management is important to health and safety of people and the environment. An incinerator is necessary to reduce the volume of waste an ensure the solid waste site will last longer. Resolute has a large volume of researchers, military and hotel guests that increase the volume of waste at our Solid Waste site.
